Press releases The Martec Group consolidates its position in the energy sector In winning several significant contracts in the site protection field in 2005, the Martec Group has confirmed the development of its activities in the protection of sensitive sites in the energy field, both in France and at international level. Since the start of the year 2005, the Martec Group has signed several major electronic security contracts with its long-standing customers, such as Sonatrach and Sonelgaz in Algeria, for perimeter protection of oil and gas complexes, and with new major accounts in the energy sector, notably in Morocco for the protection of sensitive industrial installations. These recent commercial successes lengthen even further the list of the Martec Group’s already numerous references in the field of vulnerable site protection in the energy sector, including the French national nuclear facilities, the nuclear power plants at Chernobyl in the Ukraine, Lingao and Guang Dong in China and Tihange in Belgium, as well as the protection of several of the Total Group’s bases in Nigeria. Within the framework of these projects, the services provided by the Martec Group range from design studies into optimised technical solutions, deployment on the ground and the training of personnel in the operation and maintenance of the products and systems installed. The electronic security solutions implemented by Martec guarantee a very high level of reliability in meeting extremely strict requirements (particularly concerning a near-zero annual false alarm rate and intensive operation under very poor weather conditions). “The signing of these new contracts is confirmation of the quality of the partnerships established between the Martec Group and the major contractors in the energy sector. These projects, like all those that we have fulfilled for more than 20 years now, demonstrate our ability to provide long-term sensitive site protection, by proposing solutions that are both reliable, innovative and competitive” explains Michael Gass, Martec’s Physical Security and Electronics Group’s Business Director. In addition the Martec Group, either directly or in collaboration with integration and installation partners, recently signed several significant contracts for the protection of industrial or government sites for major clients present in other sectors of activity, including the French Interior Ministry and the PSA Peugeot-Citroën Group. As a specialist in electronics and communications in severe environments, the Martec Group and its subsidiaries (Martec Serpe-Iesm, Martec Services, Martec Production) has developed widely recognized skills and has over twenty years of experience in designing products and integrating systems for the Defence and Aeronautics, Industrial and Transports sectors. It puts its technical expertise and industrial know-how to good use in its three main activities and fields of application, corresponding to the activities of its Business Groups: Physical and Electronic Security, and Critical and Services Systems. The Martec Group has a staff of 250 on several sites in France (Paris, Lorient, and Troyes), a worldwide distribution network covering over 60 countries.
